Micro Founding Terra v3

Description

Give Your Smallest Ant Species the Perfect Foundation:

Introducing the Micro Founding Terra nest, the most compact member of our popular Terra range, meticulously crafted to provide an ideal environment for single queen founding of smaller ant species. This nest offers a secure and comfortable space for your new colony to establish and grow.

Key Features:

• Specifically Designed for Small Ants: The reduced chamber size is perfectly suited for the initial stages of a small ant colony, providing a manageable and stress-free environment.
• V3 Escape-Proof Technology: Incorporating our latest V3 design, this nest features a fine metal mesh securely integrated into the hydration port. This crucial addition ensures that even the tiniest ant species cannot escape, providing you with complete peace of mind.
• Optimal Pairing: This micro nest is designed to seamlessly connect with our extra-small (XS) or small (S) outworlds, allowing you to easily expand your colony’s foraging area as they grow.
• Suitable for Single Queens: The nest’s size is optimised for a single founding queen, providing her with the necessary space to lay eggs and establish her first workers.
• Growth Potential: While ideal for founding, small ant species can comfortably reside in this nest for a significant period. Please note that this nest is not suitable for medium or large ant species. For XL species, please see our standard Founding Terra Nest.

What’s Included:

• Micro Founding Terra Nest
• Magnetic Blocker (for sealing the entrance)
• 4 x Screws
• Allen Key (for assembly)

Enhanced Hydration System:

The inclusion of the metal mesh at the hydration port offers an added benefit: it significantly reduces the risk of accidentally flooding the nest. While care should always be taken when adding water, the mesh acts as a buffer, giving you more time to identify and rectify any over-watering by using cotton to absorb excess moisture.

Important Hydration Considerations:

Due to the smaller volume of this nest, the hydration will not last as long as in our larger Terra nests. We recommend completely refilling the hydration port approximately twice per week. However, please understand that this is a guideline. The actual frequency may vary depending on factors such as ambient temperature, the specific ant species and their drinking habits, and the overall environment of your setup. Regularly monitor the moisture levels within the nest to ensure optimal conditions for your colony.
